Particularly, in 2016, this ancient town – Hoi An welcome New Year with a lantern festival. With the theme of “New Year Prom 2016″, the festival taking place at 8:30 pm on December 31 is expected to leave a deep impression by a chain of interesting events.
The gala night will begin with the opening ceremony of Hoi An Lantern Festival 2016, then the award ceremony for the best Hoi An tourism videos and most beautiful wedding photos taken in this ancient city.
Flower lanterns are dropped into Hoai river on the occasion of the New Year.
In particular, Hoai river and Hoi An Sculpture Park will be lightened up by thousands of colorful lanterns. On Nguyen Phuc Chu walking street, there are a lot of art performances and cultural activities such as a fashion show of many renowned designers, including Papillon and Chula, a dress line originally from Hanoi.
